Where we live

Our home and studios in Northern Ireland are in County Down at the tip of the Ards Peninsula on the coast of the Irish Sea. We live directly in front of a beautiful sandy bay, (Knockinelder Bay) which provides us with material for many paintings of the Irish Sea , boats, sunrises and sunsets. The lovely County Down landscape is right on the doorstep. Peculiar to the Ards Peninsula are the remains of old windmills and one of these, on a hilltop viewing point in the nearest town, Portaferry, overlooks most of Strangford Lough, a nature reserve with a wide variety of sea-life. The area is renowned or it’s unspoilt beauty, much of it in the hands of the National Trust. There are opportunities for walking, boating, sailing, fishing, golf, heritage sites, pubs with local Irish music, and much more! (The Mountains of Mourne are close by.) Think of painting holidays!
